A sound will not play. What should I check?
Check the reason shown in AudioLumo. Reconnect the original drive if it is offline. If the folder has moved or access has been revoked, select the folder again and grant access through the macOS folder picker.
Cloud placeholders must be downloaded to your Mac before they can play or export. An unsupported codec or damaged file may also prevent playback. Include the file format and the message you see when contacting support.
Where are my sounds stored?
Adding a folder to AudioLumo does not move your original audio files. Use the path shown in the app or reveal the file in Finder to locate it. Your catalogue and waveform caches are stored locally on your Mac.
If you select a folder managed by iCloud Drive, Dropbox or another sync service, that service still controls its own synchronisation and local file availability.
Can I search while a drive is disconnected?
Yes. Previously indexed names and metadata remain searchable in the local catalogue. To listen to a sound or export it, reconnect the drive containing the original file.
How do I turn off automatic playback?
Open Settings → Audio and turn off Autoplay. You can then start a preview with the Play control or the space bar.
Where are my custom metadata saved?
Your annotations are saved in the catalogue and, for supported formats, written into the audio file after a backup of the original. Other file variants use sidecar files. AudioLumo fields are not automatically recognised by every other audio application.
Changes to disconnected files stay queued in the catalogue until the originals are available again. Removing a library from the catalogue does not automatically delete existing exports, sidecars or backups.
How do I use sounds in Premiere or DaVinci?
Export an entire sound or the selected in/out range as a WAV file, then import that file into Adobe Premiere or DaVinci Resolve. Keep the exported file in a location available to your editing project.
How do I back up my catalogue?
In Settings → Catalogue, choose Back up catalogue… and save the backup in a safe location. You can also open the support folder from the same settings section to locate the app’s local catalogue data.
A catalogue backup is separate from your original audio files. Keep additional backups of your sounds, exports and metadata sidecars.
What do I need, and how do updates work?
AudioLumo is designed for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later. It is a one-time purchase with no AudioLumo subscription. The app organises your own audio files; a commercial sound library is not included. Current pricing and release availability are shown on the homepage.
When you install AudioLumo from the Mac App Store, app updates are delivered through the Store. You can enable automatic updates or install available updates manually there.
What should I send to support?
Tell us your AudioLumo version, macOS version, what you expected to happen, and the steps needed to reproduce the issue. Include the exact error message and, if useful, a screenshot. For audio issues, the file format, sample rate and channel count can help.
Share only the information needed for your request. Your library is not automatically uploaded to support. Our privacy policy explains how we handle messages and attachments.
